History Of Nottingham Lodge

Built in 1834, it is a fine late Regency early Victorian house and was owned by a wealthy middle class family, as were other houses in the area. Originally the entrance was from 2nd Avenue where horse drawn carriages would arrive. The stables were located on the other side of the house and which today house the kitchen and laundry, the entrance today would have been for the servants and tradesmen. The house and gardens were divided at the turn of the 20th century and in 1987 it was converted into a Guest House. Over the years the house has been completely transformed into the high class establishment which it is today, with a reputation for high quality accommodation, personal service, attention to detail, excellent breakfasts, a warm welcome and one of only three in Nottinghamshire to have received the ETB Gold Award.

We would recommend staying at Nottingham Lodge. Our room was comfortable and very clean. We were made to feel extremely welcome. The breakfast was great with a good range of breakfast choices. Closely situated near to the city centre but in a quiet location. Ideal for a relaxing weekend away. We would definitely consider returning when we next visit Nottingham. Thank you for making us feel welcome.

Thank you Greenwood Lodge, for providing a very welcome rest in very comfortable surroundings, The bed was comfortable the room was quiet and welcoming, and the stay thoroughly recharged my batteries. The breakfast choice was wide to suit any palette, though I still went for the full English. I will certainly stay again. Thank you very much.

Very pleasant homely and good Food. Get a Nice feeling of being in England, With a Scottish touch to the dining room in the conservatory, With porridge for bresakfast and Scottish oatcakes, Scottish smoked salmon. Otherwise All locally sourced food and very good indeed , much friendlier and better quality than any 5 star hotel.

What a great place to stay when visiting the city of Nottingham.A lovely house in great surroundings within easy reach of the city centre. The rooms are comfortable and clean and full of character and all the facilities are first class.Fresh milk provided to make a cup of tea, just one of the small things that make a big difference. Breakfast was a joy with plenty of choice and served in the conservatory with good views of the garden.Great way to start the day. Looking forward to my next visit.
